  1. England really screwed up. How can they consistently play Gerrard in every other position except his strongest one. A player of this caliber may never come again.

  2. @MrHelloProductions i am talking about the highest scoring midfielder in the history of premier league and you tell me that gerrard was injured.you think lampard has never been injured? also gerrard plays for liverpool's first team since he was 18 or 19 and still he hasnt scored the goals frankie has.

  3. @MrHelloProductions true that..but let me remind you the fact that frank lampard also has more assists than steven gerrard. So how the fuck you say gerrard is better?

  4. Steven Gerrard is the best english player in the last decade. Just look at this contributions in the 2001 treble, the 2003 league cup, champions league 2005 and fa cup 2006.

  5. @thaN0s1993 lampard 5% better going forward, gerrard 95% better at everything else, leadership, workrate, tackling, marking, running, y'know the shit that don't make the papers. you could even dispute lamps being better going forward on the basis that he has better wingers and more physical strikers to take the playmaking burden off him. lamps could never drag a team forward single handedly like gerrard can/could

  6. @thaN0s1993 but the extra 'technique' lampard supposeadly has only gets him a little bit more because he is half the athlete of gerrard, plus gerrard technique is not exactly far away. if i were going to defend lampard i would sayhe was cleverer. the fact that you haven't even mentioned that means you really don't know what your talking about and i can't be arsed to continue this arguement. good day

  7. @thaN0s1993 so? i'm not saying lampard's shit, he has his moments, just that gerrard is twice the footballer. if lampard is the english version of totti then gerrard is the english version of totti, de rossi, camouranesi and del piero all rolled into one.

  8. @casualastheycome gerrard is a player who can defend and can attack. truth is he is better at a defensive role.. like a ball winning midfielder. lampard is more creative and can score with many more ways than gerrard.

  9. Lampard is quality, there's no doubt about that.

    Gerrard is just better.
    As Smithy said so himself.
He can defend, he can attack, my god he can strike a ball, his passing range is better, he can head, he's far more agile than Frank, there's no one better at motivating a team, whether its Liverpool or England, than Stevie, he's a fantastic leader and role model.

Taking nothing away from Lampard though.

  10. @thaN0s1993 Gerrard vs Olympiakos and West Ham United.
Not to mention the importance of those goals. 90th minute vs West Ham making it 3-3, going on to win in penalty shoot out.
Needing that extra goal against Olympiakos to go through the group stages of Champions League in 04, going on to win the competition.

Beckham’s Resignation as Captain was a Blessing in Disguise

in News & Features

David BeckhamA lot of David Beckham’s fans were sad when he stepped down as captain of England following their World Cup exit, but it turned out to be a sub-conscious guard mechanism to lessen the pain for a future axing from the captaincy.

England has been an underachiever for as long as people could remember and David Beckham’s popularity is all that’s left of their image and success, whose loser status in footballing world was cemented by their early exit once again, so as the future of David Beckham on England.

Alex Ferguson has resigned from the position long ago and stated that the World Cup would be his last assignment for the country, and this is an indication that a revamp will follow soon after, including David Beckham who will most likely be stripped of his role; but little did people know that he’s leadership role is not only in danger but also his membership with the club.

Steve McLaren is reported to omit David Beckham from the squad and shall be confirmed on Friday at 1500 BST when he announces the final 24-man squad to carry England to the next level in succeeding years.

This is a big blow to all the fans including David Beckham but as it turned out, he’s resignation from England was minor and proved to be a blessing in disguise as he suffered less on his omission from the team than being removed from captaincy and immediately excluded from the team.

John Terry’s appointment gives England a new hope with people banking on the youth of Terry to work well for him as he would have enough time to grow and become a great leader and hopefully enough to carry them in international competitions. His new captaincy buzz simply pulls the world off from David Beckham making his suffering less difficult and simpler.

David still has it takes to play competitive football for his country but given his age of 31 and transfer plans to MLS two years after doesn’t give his coach any compelling reason to invest playing time for him and instead give the younger guys the opportunity to develop their skills helping England on a long-term vision.

The era of David Beckham“>David Beckham has formally ended but we hope he would still be visible to all of us fans.
