Uruguay just upped their standards by moving to the last 8 of the tournament powered by Suarez who had two goals. As the team have said time and again, this is their best Uruguay national theme ever and they are proving they can go to the next level.

Suarez opened the game with a goal just 8 minutes after match kicked-off.

Korea Republic refused to lose and Chun Yong got another goal in the 68th minute.

Uruguay and Korea Republic worked hard on offense and defense but Suarez was relentless getting another goal on the 80th minute which but all sealed the fate of Korea Republic.

Key Takeaway

This was a beautifully played match from both side and either one of them deserved to win but Uruguay had their best team in decades and they wouldn’t refuse not to go deeper into the tournament.

Switzerland has never lost to a CONCACAF team (Honduras belongs to that qualification) and they can win a slot to the final 16 team if they win with two more goals against Honduras regardless of the Spain vs Chile game.

This is a very important match as Spain is fighting for life and for their next round booking. Spain is powered by Fernando Torres, David Villa and history where Spain have always beaten Chile. Their record against this team is remarkable — 7 wins, 1 draw, scoring 18 goals and conceding only 3.

But then again, we have seen how France has bowed out of group stage, how defending champions Italy was beaten by Slovakia which is a team everyone dismissed before the tournament began.

Why Chile would win?

This team has not yet lost and they have shown how committed they are in winning. This team also has three star players in Bravo, Orellana, and Suazo playing for the Spanish league which gives them mastery of their opponents tonight.

Recap

Damn, this was a boring game and clearly Portugal and Brazil only cared to end in a draw.

Both these teams played safe, they didn’t attack with force, had long shots to the goal, and didn’t hassle much. For two teams that could compete hard, there weren’t an yellow cards given on the second half.

Both teams made sure they were healthy going to the next round. Dunga showed some signs of care for the Brazilian team seeing him walking up and down the side of the field. If he did that against Ivory Coast and Korea DPR then I wouldn’t have any problem with that. It seems this is all for the show.

Let’s just forget this game. For the last 6 months since the schedule was announced, people were waiting for this matchup and it disappointed well enough.

Below are the highlights:

Piece of shit game, I am happy Argentina went ahead and scored their third win, Brazil was just playing like it was a pickup game. Pickup game have more intensity.

2nd Half

Damn, both these teams are playing safe, maybe they don’t want to risk an injury for any of their players. Both of these teams are more like to finish 1st and 2nd especially because Ivory Coast has only scored 3 and they need five or six more to go ahead of Portugal.

This is becoming a boring match where both teams run and setup play as if they were at the bottom of the standing.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal is bringing the game to Brazil.

1st Half

There were flashes of brilliance coming from Ronaldo, Maicon, and Silva but both teams still aren’t able to score a goal.

Brazil runs the ball with Robinho, Silva, and Fabiano with great skill, smooth orchestration, solid execution, that deliver goal after goal.

Kaka is suspended for this game but the remaining players are more than enough to make a good run.

This team has a solid defense but their offense make their defense shine less as this team simply controls possession of the ball 3/4 of the time.

Brazil has proven their consistency and managed to win all their games in FIFA World Cup 2010.

This team is going to come out blazing.

Why Portugal would win?

Portugal is a determined team anchored on Cristiano Ronaldo who the best player in the world behind only to Argentine Lionel Messi.

They has scored a draw against Ivory Coast and doubts were cast on their ability to win especially when Ivory Coast main man, Didier Drogba was playing hurt.

With their backs against the wall vs Korea DPR, they scored 7 goals, the highest in this tournament and the highest in Portugal World Cup history. While Korea DPR is an inferior team, Brazil didn’t score half the goals Portugal did against them.

Key Takeaway

This is the most anticipated game of the group stage where two high profile, high caliber, winning teams meet.

Both these teams boast a number of the best players in the world and expect this match to be electrifying.
