FIFA wants to be the sole organization to have the right to say, utter, or print the words FIFA World Cup. They sent a letter to countless of small, mini blog sites who promoted their FIFA World Cup 2006 tournament for free.

in Group, Team & Standings/News & Features

Brazil wins Copa America 2007 Argentina lost to Brazil in 2004 via penalties. Argentina came to the finals with vengeance in their eyes looking to crush Brazil. People expected Argentina to win it all. In the end, Argentina went home getting beaten by Brazil.

Brazil was spectacular throughout the game finishing with 3 goals while Argentina never saw the ball behind the net.

Julio Baptisa came up with a back breaker by scoring very early in the game — 4th minute. Argentina captain Roberto Ayala helped Brazil extend the lead by scoring on his own goal before half-time and Brazilian Daniel Alves finishing off Argentina for good.

Jamie Carragher Should Still Fight for His Place in England

in News & Features

It does not matter if Jamie thinks his skills cannot cope up with the young guys anymore. It does not matter if he thinks he cannot do it right now. Jamie Carragher plays very well with his team club and it is not his fault if England’s manager could find a place for him to shine.

He has the experience which could prove valuable for the team and as such, he should be hopeful and proud of carrying the England flag on his shoulders. Steve McLaren would still be talking to Jamie and hopefully they could mend their difference and find a suitable strategy to make the most of his capacity.

Jamie has this to say:

McClaren Needs to Prove a Point More than His Players

in News & Features

Steve McClarenSteve McClaren has pointed out that the players need to prove a point in their Uefa Euro 2008 qualifier match against Israel in Tel Aviv.

More than anything else, I believe Steve McClaren is the one who should prove a point for England. The squad was spectacular in the last FIFA World Cup and their current team which was supposed to be the same line up as before is far from half of their previous face.

Steve has put in a lot of changes starting in getting rid of David Beckham who should have provided the leadership and maturity England needs to develop its young core like Theo Walcott and Wayne Rooney.

Italy Unseat Brazil in FIFA Coca-Cola World Rankings

in News & Features

Italy is looking good towards FIFA World Cup 2010 especially because they have just unseated Brazil in the FIFA Ranking after the South American squad remained number 1 for the last 55 months.

This is the first time Italy became number 1 since November 1993.

Brazil is going to have a lot of homework to do and losing to a friendly game against Portugal 0 – 2 does not help their cause.
