Someone f**k* U.S.

in News & Features

Aaron over at Technosailor sent me a link with this message:

“Thought this was telling and pretty much summed up my feelings.”

In an excerpt of the story here:

Today was supposed to be the day U.S. Soccer shined against a world powerhouse in the 2006 World Cup. Today was the day they figured they would prove themselves again of the quality progress that has occurred since their quarterfinal finish in 2002. What do we get leading up to this day?

We got to see arrogance, not confidence. We got to hear how any of our players can play in any other league. We got to hear the great Damarcus Beasley moan about Bruce Arena not picking a starting lineup weeks before the first game. Might as well put Terrell Owens and Keyshawn Johnson on the field.

What did we get during the game?

Swedish Dispute

in News & Features

Ahmed Bilal over at Soccerlens sent me a post about the what’s going on in the lockeroom of the Sweden national team after their tied game against Trinidad and Tobago.

This is rumor and I would ask you guys to take it as it is. This is the World Cup, emotions are rising to astronomical levels and so stories like this could be true.

In an excerpt of the story found here:

“It´s not the tactics, it´s the lack of creativity that denies us the goal”, Mellberg says as he looks at Ljungberg.

The Swedish captain is just about to walk pass Freddy to the right (seen from the door) when the Arsenal player “jumps” up and snubs:

“What the f**k are you trying to say with that? Perhaps you should think about your own game and keep the ball simple by the ‘wings’ instead of your ‘balloonshots’.”

I would not be surprised at all if this players have some misunderstanding after a loss. I just hope they sort it out pretty quick and get their acts together because the tied game against T&T does not look good going into their next matches.

Australia: 3 Japan: 1

I apologize for what happened in my Liveblog of Australia vs Japan. You may have noticed on your next refresh the content was gone. My incompetent internet provider MyDestiny was at it’s best again. When I hit the saved button the internet connection went down and when I refreshed the page 99% of the text was gone.

Anyways, after Japan scored the only goal with less than 20 minutes remaining I thought the Socceroos where dead.
