He did well to recover and clear the ball before Hugo Almeida could head home the rebound. With the momentum on their side, Portugal continued to attack. Ronaldo unleashed a blazing free kick from nearly 45 yards away that Casillas had a great deal of difficulty dealing with. Once again he was able to clear before a Portuguese striker made him pay for his mistake.
