  1. The Italians just never got over their reputation as 1-0 winners. The game developed and players got faster and more technical. Tactics and formations changed…and yet Italy sits 10 behind the ball. They can’t score. They don’t produce strikers and no10s like they once did. There was a romanticism to the game and creativity and greatness grew from that. So despite playing for a low goal scoring W they found ways to score. Now they are all made to be products of a bygone era. They learn to play in the 3-5-2 or 5-3-2 but have zero risk takers. 2020 they salvaged some creativity from guys like Veratti and Chiesa while still having arguably the best backline in international soccer…now they are mediocre players who can only play a position in a system. Italy needs to start taking risks, get forward, play the beautiful game again. I think there is a generation waiting to get Italy back on the top of the world stage. Talent is there. They just need the courage to let it fly.
