  1. The France semi final lives rent free in my head. Del piero did f all the entire game then italy subs in Baggio with i think 10 or 15 mins left and he single handedly changed the game.. Baggio should have started

  2. People surprised about Del Piero wearing #10 instead of Baggio …. that was 1998, where we had prime R9: well, that was prime Del Piero too ….and the latter was better than the first: same number of goals, but more quality and more contribution to game of the team.

1998 Del Piero is among the best seasons ever for a n.10, before Messi's era that changed all the references for the role

Yet, Baggio was living a second youth, scoring his record with 22 goals in the league, even if with many penalties

Crazy we had also Totti and Zola,
who were close to their prime

    Beside all the strikers:
Vieri, Inzaghi, Chiesa, Ravanelli, Montella, Simone, Branca, Ganz, Di Canio, ecc.

  3. Roberto Baggio with that first touch is just divine. One of the greatest footballers of the 90s. A lot of people rave about Romario which I do think he's up there with R9 but Baggio was actually the man that dominated the World Cup 1994 due to his Balon D'or status, he's actually even better than Romario on many aspects of the game
