Cahill it's his day… Is it ever, Is it ever Tim Cahill's day…. cometh the hour cometh the man from Australia.
I miss "Our Gus"
Back when Australia still had a future, on the precipice of change to being totally destroyed and the dystopian place it is now in 2026. Will also never forget the BS call and the Italian flopper that robbed us.
Never forget this.
Did a dance in the street lol.
What a player Cahill was, when other players choked Cahill lead the way!
I was there!!!!!!!!!
Greatest sporting moment I've EVER experienced!!!!!!!
The sad thing is that this team could have gone all the way. Easily the best Socceroos team ever
I watched this one on an extended lunch break at Walkabout Angel in London. I didn't go back to work that day.
That Aloisi goal near the end was pure guts.
Go Aussie but that Cahill challenge was definitely a penalty lol.
Farmers teams ?
Then they lost to Brazil 2-0, drew 2-2 against Croatia then were eliminated by Italy in a 1-0 loss. Yawn.
The Uso Cahill
Why does Aloisi always look angry at the world
Aloisi and Cahill what a combination, soft passes ran kilometres, shot low not over the bar.
I remember watching this as a 16 year old from the Across the Waves Club in Bundaberg with my brother/Dad and the rest of the team after we won a local cup final. They gave us the conference room and had it on the big screen. I definitely did not drink any alcoholic drinks from the cup trophey.
??????????????
????????????????????
Josh Kennedy. Man I miss watching that dude play
Great memories although i just realised how on earth were japan not given a penalty for that cahill challenge just after we scored the 1st goal ??
This day was better than my wedding day!
I remember staying up to watch this game, I had a uni exam the next day but football comes before everything else
After a drought of 32 years with no goals scored, Australia score 3 goals in one game. Sometimes dreams do come true.
Ahhh.. happy memories.
Now Japan continue to progress
and we keep getting worse
Football from this era looks so amateurish
I was there. Behind the goals at the scoring end. Could see Cahills second going in the moment it left his boot. One of the best days of my life.
Reverse Hiroshima ?
I don't remember the Cahill challenge on the Japanese player. How was that not a penalty?? I guess we got our own back vs Italy haha
you can tell that the crowd were all behind the Australians for the win ? ??
Loved this memory. ???
