Pre-game: England vs USA (12 Jun 2010)

Match Details

England-USA, Group C, Royal Bafokeng Stadium, Friday 12 June, 20.30 (local time)

The much favored England is going against the less favored USA. Fabio Capello has instilled confidence in the team following their failure to qualify for Euro 2008. They have all their games which proves their skill and capability and have just lost a game to get booted out of the Euro 2008.

USA is riding high following their win against Spain in the Confederations Cup.

USA is powered by Lando Donovan but while he is a fearsome striker, he is not in the league of Wayne Rooney who is looking to put his career and reputation back on track against USA.

Key Takeaway

England is going to the game heavily favored to win and their experience, skills, exposure should be more than enough for this.

Drama on Beckham and Rooney

David Beckham Wayne RooneyI feel hurt and sorry for both David Beckham and Wayne Rooney who could only watch from the sidelines as their team lost against Portugal. David was in tears when he went off the field on the 52nd minute of the quarterfinal against Portugal after he got injured on his right ankle when defender Nuno Valente stepped on him.

Rooney’s 2000th Goal

in News & Features

For the first time Wayne Rooney is going to be in the starting lineup of Sven’s squad hoping to get past Sweden as Sven confirmed. He will replace Peter Crouch, who was booked against Paraguay, as Michael Owen’s partner in attack. In today’s game, I have a very strong feeling that Rooney is going to get FIFA’s 2000th point in the England vs Sweden game wherein the goal total is at

The penalty that Fernando Torres struck home to give Spain a 3-1 victory over Tunisia in Stuttgart last night was goal number 1,991. Today’s earlier matched have increased the goal total to 1,997 which means England and Sweden just needs to score three goals to close or surpass the total today.

Bruce Wayne Directs

Wayne Rooney Wayne Rooney came to the rescue as if on cue the Bat signal was raised and the hero appears. I would agree with Sven-Goran Eriksson’s decision before the game to keep Wayne Rooney from playing especially against a physical team like Trinidad and Tobago.

The first half ended and the score still tied, T&T are pounding on the drums, the fire is burning and the ritual of slaugthering a sacrifice is going to happen in the second half at the expense of England. With raw power rather than experience, with strength rather than finesse, with killer instincts rather than intelligence; this team is circling the field focus on taking down their opponent and claim their rightful place after 40 painful years of waiting.

Heal Rooney Campaign

in Group, Team & Standings

People are praying and wishing Wayne Rooney will make it in time for the FIFA World Cup competition especially when they promised Prince Williams the Finals.

I for one would like to see Wayne Rooney because he simply is astounding and a player of his caliber deserve to represent his country in the field and not on casual uniform working as a cheerleader. If Luckott made the history books playing for his country, it is not fair to see Rooney on the bench. Life is not fair and so give us some break and get him there on the field.

Fair enough. His exciting and powerful timely kicks going to the net is needed by a team facing perhaps the strongest Brazil team we have seen in years.

Do you agree? If yes send out your healing message to Wayne Rooney over at Heal Rooney campaign.

C’mon guys, even if you don’t route for England it would be fitting to see your team win or lose against a player like Wayne Rooney. Go and send your healing messages.
