Pre-game: Cameroon vs Denmark (19 Jun 2010)Match Details
Cameroon-Denmark, Group E, Tshwane/Pretoria, Saturday 19 June, 20.30 (local time)

Why Denmark would win?

Big hopes. Denmark hasn’t scored on their last three defeat games and injuries by star players Niklas Bendtner and Jon Dahl Tomasson does not help their cause. This is going to be a tough game for Denmark and what they need is to be at the right place and at the right time, look at the Spain vs Switzerland game.

Why Cameroon would win?

Samuel Eto’o is still one of the best African players in the world and he showed brilliance against Japan but wasn’t able to score the needed goal to give them three points.

Key Takeaway

Things are looking bleak for these two teams but the best they can do for now is win all their remaining games including this one.

Pre-game: Ghana vs Australia (19 Jun 2010)Match Details
Ghana-Australia, Group D, Rustenburg, Saturday 19 June, 16.00 (local time)

Why Australia would win?

Australia got destroyed by Germany who eventually lost to Serbia where Serbia lost to Ghana.

Things are not looking good for Australia and with Tim Cahill out because of suspension and Harry Kewell out with an injury, it should be a sure exit for Australia.

Why Ghana would win?

Ghana won against Serbia and Serbia made history by defeating Germany. Asamoah Gyan who is the first player from Ghana to score a goal in FIFA World Cup back in 2006 is expected to put another one tonight which could be more than enough to run away with a win.

Pre-game: Netherlands vs Japan (19 Jun 2010)Match Details
Netherlands-Japan, Group E, Durban, Saturday 19 June, 13.30 (local time)

Why Japan would win?

If there is anything we have learned in the previous matches in FIFA World Cup 2010 is that lower ranked teams can win games against high profile opponents. Take Switzerland vs Spain. Serbia vs Germany. A draw by Algeria vs England.

Japan is riding high on their win against Cameroon and coach Takeshi Okada is putting Honda again on the attacking side hoping to score another goal and win on their side.

Why Netherlands would win?

The last time these two teams competed with each other the Dutchmen scored three goals against none for Japan. Netherlands is not just a high profile team but they have already proven they can demolish this team. Netherlands are not taking any chances and they would be coming off blazing.

Key Takeaway

This is a crucial win for both these teams that would assure them of a place in the next round. We should see an exciting match. On the contrary, if Netherlands gets in the groove, Japan might get demoralized and this match could turn into a shooting range for the Dutchmen.

Videos: England vs Algeria (18 Jun 2010)England (0) vs Algeria (0)

This was a boring game that can be archived in the “forgettable archive”. England could setup play, they couldn’t get a decent shot, they miss on attacks, they played poorly. As I said, time to forget England.

For consolation go and listen to the interview by Steven Gerrard of England. It might give you some level of inspiration and hope that England can still make it to the next level.
