Nigeria FIFA U-20 Women's World ChampionshipMajestic Falconets of Nigeria assured their spot in the quarterfinals with a crushing job over Finland 8 – 0. They did not need to win to join China in the quarterfinals but coach Emmanuel Tetteh Okonkwo had other things in mind. He instructed his team to attack strong and put the team away which saw them firing repeatedly and pounding Switzerland’s inferior football to the tune of eight times seeing the ball behind the net.

Cynthia Uwak led the charge against Finland in FIFA U-20 Women’s World Championship with a hat trick as a result of her continous and tireless attack on Finland.

Below are the team that qualified for the quarterfinals (enclosed in brackets are their point total):

Group A – Russia (5), Brazil (5)

Group B – China PR (9), Nigeria (6)

Group C – Korea DPR (9), Germany (6)

Group D – France (6), USA (6) — Both team still has to face each other in their last group game

I am running a poll on which team shall win in Russia 2006 at the right side column. Go and cast your vote.

The Head Tells it All

World Cup Hair Only in FIFA World Cup. Need I say anything because I am sure his head tells everything.

Seriously, I am fascinated and in awe on the passion of players, fans and the entire world in football. Only in this game would you see the most creative styles in face, body and different eye popping looks.

Taribo West: This Prodigy-esque effort was as green as the Nigerian flag; what a lovely, proud gesture. Pity it stopped him heading a last-minute equaliser against the Swedes in 2002, eh?

Tunisia In this series of posts we shall look at each country’s profile that will see action during the games. We continue with Tunisia (player profile). The full archive is found here.

Only winning one game against Mexico in the last 28 years does not speak well of this team. Being the first African country to win a finals has put them in the record books though. Below is their world cup record:

1978: (lost) Poland; (draw) Germany
1998: (lost) England, Columbia; (draw) Romania
1998: (lost) Russia, Japan; (draw) Belgium

Former French national coach Roger Lemerre has led the team to lift the trophy at the Rades stadium during the CAF African Cup of Nations in February 2004.

Their six wins, three draws and only one loss ensured them a place in World Cup Germany.

Their solid combination of players makes Tunisian fans hopeful about their chances.
