  1. What on Earth is wrong with Sterling
He did it in the past against Shakhtar in the UCL
And now against Eriksen's national team
He is such a coward. We all know he has got the talent and skill set but this type of behavior is unacceptable
Ones a cheater always a cheater

  2. why isnt anyone saying anything about the mbappe pen against swiss??? that was shameless and no contact whatsoever, but no one will say anything bcos it isn't England.

  3. Fact! Was there contact??? Yes? Did the Defender play the ball? NO! Therefore penalty. This nonsence of trying to decide how much contact should cause a penalty, is makes refereeing inconsistent.

  4. Think it’s hilarious after all the wrong/bad decisions England have had in the past Frank Lampards disallowed goal, Maradonas hand of goal & people are complaining about a decision by the letter of the law in the tournament that was the right call, Whether or not pundits & fans think different or UFEA/FIFA change it for future tournaments/leagues. You could also argue about whether Emerson should of got a red card for the challenge on Grealish, yes he got the ball, but he was showing his studs & follwed onto Grealish’s thigh. There will always be grey areas in football, but today’s players are pansies compared to 50+ years ago. Also on another note you want to talk about diving, check out how Germany, Italy, Spain, Brazil & a ton of other countries that do or have done it.

  5. Lebouf is talking complete nonsense when he now says Sterling took his foot towards the defender, it is very clear in the referees statement that the defender made a clear movement of intent to play the player, meaning he brought his foot forward. To say It say it was not a penalty is like saying someone who threw a punch ones face, but did not land it on their opponent should not be seen as an aggressor because the the aggressor's punch landed softly on the opponents face. Football is full of situations where people say they did not complete a situation or movement, in their hope it will get them out of the fact their actions have broken the rules when they did not have to carry out those actions which when carried out will effect the game. They claim they were offside but did not touch the ball, or claim that they tried to headbutt their opponent but there was no contact, or say they were committed in the dangerous challenge and could not pull back but did not get the opponent, or say their foot was high but they did not strike the the opponent in the face and so on, pretending either way they do not see how their actions still effect the game or the actions of their opponents and are so break the rules. We can't have people running around the pitch threatening people with acts of violence knowing they will pull away just at the right moment o effect their opponent and then claim their was no contact. Their hope being that they can gain from the benefits of these actions that clearly break the rules, should they be able to convince someone who is stupid enough to believe them that they would not be benefiting from their actions if they were allowed to continue. Those who say Sterling's penalty was not a penalty because the contact was small do not understand the difference between going for the player and going for the ball, or pretend not to for their own convenience.

  6. "Contact" is a stupid word. Contact happens all over the pitch for 90 minutes. The question must be was the "contact" enough to hurt or make the player fall down. If a tackle leads to "contact" doesn't mean it is automatically a foul or pen. The word "contact" is misleading

  7. It's a pretty sad way of trying to save face by UEFA. They should just keep shut if they want to avoid more embarrassment, trying to defend the penalty decision is beyond ridiculous.

  8. It's almost like pundits and the majority of morons in comments don't know what they're talking about. Keep showing the two points of impact and some still insist he dived. Its embarrassing

  9. Anyone who makes comments ever thinks of challenging theirs eyes , sometime what you see might cheat you . Only the ref was the closest to make a call than any others who only see the slow motion of the video, which can hardly tell it is soft or not in real time !

  10. that was a clear penalty though, in slow motion it makes it look like it was not, but in reality, moments like those can only be watched in real speed as they happen in milliseconds. there was clear contact between the two knees.

  11. I'm English but my own view is, irrespective of this particular incident, is that Sterling needs sorting out. He looks for this sort of situation every game. His main asset is speed and he tends to use that to run directly at and through players with a view to producing incidents such as this. He's not creative in the way that Grealish, Sancho, Sakha or Chiesa. This is his most typical way of playing, to run straight at defenders. An England team without Sterling would be much less predictable and more creative. With the talented crop of players we have coming through it's time to put him on the bench. Luckily by the time this team comes into its own he will be over the hill.

  12. Only those who do not know the rules think there was no penalty and if 90 percent do not know the rules, it's up to them to learn the rules. As for Lebouf saying Raheem moved his leg to the defender, he is completely making that up. It's the defender who brought his leg to Raheem as the referee made so clear he saw the defender doing with an intention to play the man not the ball or just too late, even if he decided to change his mind and stop his follow through.

  13. UEFA have bottled it ?. What a joke they are. UEFA wants "clear penalties", yet the referee wasn't even sure at the time. And to make matters worse, he didn't even bother checking the monitor. Jokes. Didn't matter though, the best team won the Euro's anyway !

  14. You have a rule, obviously its unfair. But its game , teams want to win it.Teams want to win at any cost. They will find loopholes, they will dive on little contact.Only way go decide if there is no contact.
