Results (2nd Stage): Argentina vs Mexico

in Uncategorized

I missed my prediction for this game where Mexico was supposed to win.

Judging by the way the two teams played it could have gone either way that saw Maxi Rodriguez scoring on a left-footed shot on the 98th minute.

It was a close game which started with flare as captain Marquez scored the first goal of the game on the 6th minute followed by a controversial goal from Crespo of Argentina in the 10th minute wherein Jared Borgetti of Mexico seemed to have headed the ball towards the back of the net.

Man, the game started at three o’clock in the morning here in the Philippines and for the longest time no one has scored after the equalizer by Argentina until the 98th minute when Maxi gave them the lead.

The two teams where evenly matched and it was a sight to see how both of them continuously played hard even when they looked tired.

There was some interesting stuff I noticed in the game:

1. Lionel Messi – he entered late in the second half, ran highly energetic as he tried to attack the goal every time he had a chance.

2. Jared Borgetti – He was all flare throughout the game shouting and complaining from the referees on calls that did not go his favor.

3. Oswaldo Sanchez – In replays, it was painful to look at the expression in his eyes as it followed the ball when it blew right by his outstretched arms.

4. Team Effort – Both teams played with their tongues catching breathe but nevertheless they never let up offensively and defensively.

This is one of the best games played in this tournament filled with a lot of heart, courage and determination from both teams.
