Today was supposed to be the day U.S. Soccer shined against a world powerhouse in the 2006 World Cup. Today was the day they figured they would prove themselves again of the quality progress that has occurred since their quarterfinal finish in 2002. What do we get leading up to this day?We got to see arrogance, not confidence. We got to hear how any of our players can play in any other league. We got to hear the great Damarcus Beasley moan about Bruce Arena not picking a starting lineup weeks before the first game. Might as well put Terrell Owens and Keyshawn Johnson on the field.
