Hosting FIFA World Cup 2010 on South Africa doesn’t look good with delayed stadium constructions, crimes, poor department executions, etc.
The recent mishandling of the Visa of Brazilian coach Carlos Parreira and assistant Jairo Lopes Cesar Leal might result in criminal charges against them for working in South Africa without the necessary permit aside from their tourist status.
The Department of Home Affairs clearly said Parreira and Leal did not have the needed working permits; their violation is punishable by fine, jail or being deported.
Home Affairs puts the blame on South African Football Association for submitting incomplete documents for the Brazilian coach and his assistant.
This could be just the first of many problems people will be facing towards FIFA World cup 2010; I seriously think this would be one of the least prepared FIFA World Cup in history.
On the bright side, Carlos Parreira is viewed as the saviour for South Africa Soccer and he would just suffer some fine and avoid any criminal charges.
