Chile and Switzerland have been denied permission to train on the rain-damaged Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium field the day before their World Cup match. FIFA spokesman Nicolas Maingot says the decision is “a preventive measure to protect the pitch” before Monday’s Group H match. The Nelson Mandela Bay field was damaged after heavy rain waterlogged the surface last week.
