France Portgual World CupZidane Is Done! They said his career was over. They said he’s too old to play at highest level. Zidane proved his doubters wrong by catapulting his team past Brazil all the way to the semi-finals.

And today against Portugal he scored the goal via a penalty kick off Carvalho taking down Henry on the 33rd minute. He is outplaying his fellow legend Zigo who looked to have suffered an injury but is now ok.

The game started quick with Deco shooting at the goal on the 3rd minute that saw Barthez saving the potential lead for Portugal.

Game notes:

1. Change of possessions without a clear dominant team controlling the game
2. Christian Ronaldo displays useless array of cross dribble by his lonesome
3. Pauleta remains to be a ghost striker for the team.

  1. The Portuguese, a weak team, spoiled the chance for a better team, England, of reaching the finals. They achieved this by cheating and diving. They have brought the game into disrepute but more importantly they have brought their game, their people, their coach into disrepute.

  2. The diving antics of the Portuguese players and the shennanigans and and overt attempts at deception and coersion by their Brazilian coach and bench, and attempts at intimidating and deceiving the linesmen and the referee, made it a shameful exhibition for our children viewers and anyone whose values are those of common decency. These players seem to lie for a living.

  3. Wanton – This is a physical sport and most of the team do “dive” and for a certain degree tries to get out of sight from the referees but nothing has been so vulgar as what Portgual has displayed. They used every trick in the book and elevated it.

Eventhough everyone is doing it at a certain level, I would not agree with the action especially as what you have said “children” do watch these games with passion also. And it’s a shame for the kids or anyone honest to watch replays and see how these people act shamelessly…
