FIFA Rankings & Team Manager Updates

We shall give you monthly updates on team rankings by FIFA as well as keep track on managers of teams who made it to the world cup.

The big winners for team rankings include Italy (+11), Germany (+10), Argentina (+6) and England (+5) while the big losers were Mexico (-14) and USA (-11).

Managers who are keeping their jobs until the next international competition are:

Angola: Luis Oliviera Goncalves (up to 2006)
Czech Republic: Karel Bruckner (up to Euro 2008)
France: Raymond Domenech
Netherlands: Marco van Basten – (up to Euro 2008)
Spain: Luis Aragones – (up to Euro 2008)
Sweden: Lars Lagerback – (up to Euro 2008)

Argentina: Jose Pekerman – Argentinian FA has not accepted his resignation yet.
Brazil: Carlos Alberto Parreira – his failure in World Cup 2006 should kick him out the door.
Ghana: Ratomir Dujkovic – their recent performance should give Ratomir some hope.

Serbia & Montenegro: Ilija Petkovic has resigned.

Germany: Jürgen Klinsmann has resigned because of family matters and is replaced by Joachim Löw.
England: Sven Goran Eriksson has long declared he was leaving the team and is replaced by Steve McLaren.
Italy: Marcelo Lippi has resigned and was replaced by Roberto Donadoni.
Poland: Pawel Janas has resigned and replaced by Leo Beenhakker.

Australia: Guus Hiddink transferred as coach of Russia.
Trinidad & Tobago: – Leo Beenhakker has transferred to Poland.
